The Acoustics Page - Be prepared...

My life has had a few surprises for me, one of them having been my first CD player, bought in 1986. This basic device changed my plans to become an airline pilot: I wanted to build stereo systems.

Having slaughtered mum's old turntable-radio-amplifier combination I then started to have a go at loudspeakers. A little later, when I realised that CD playback was not the ultimate of emotional feelings, I started to dig out lots of turntables - Long live analogue audio !

Later on in my life, all the magazines started to fight for either DCC or MiniDisc, a discussion which did not touch me at all.

Nowadays, you can read about so many new things that I have lost the overview over all the new inventions which apparently make music more enjoyable. In my opinion, all these new data carriers make only the financial situation of the manufacturer any happier...

As is, due to the popularity of these pages, I have decided to put some more sophisticated stuff on here as well. Don't forget about the legal blah blah when considering downloading or using this data - I don't like to see my ideas in other places than my head. Apart from that, ask nicely and you get what you want, so don't be shy and send my an email at
tom@traymann.free-online.co.uk - many thanks in advance. Please follow this link to find the Sophisticated Stuff Page.
